Are you used to work with the latest social networking sites? If you do, what is the best for you? Which among them is the most helpful? Which of them do you prefer to use?
Facebook or Twitter? Let us find out which between the two is the best of the best.
Facebook is a oicial networking site and website launched in February 2004, operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc. As of January 2011, Facebook has more than 600 million active users. Users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Facebook users must register before using the site. Additionally, users may join common-interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteristics. The name of the service stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by university administrations in the United States to help students get to know each other better. Facebook allows any users who declare themselves to be at least 13 years old to become registered users of the website.
Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow computer science students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. The website’s membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to other colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It gradually added support for students at various other universities before opening to high school students, and, finally, to anyone aged 13 and over, but based on ConsumersReports.org on May 2011, there are 7.5 million children under 13 with accounts, violating the site’s terms.
A January 2009 Compete.com study ranked Facebook as the most used social networking service by worldwide monthly active users, followed byMySpace. Entertainment Weekly included the site on its end-of-the-decade “best-of” list, saying, “How on earth did we stalk our exes, remember our co-workers’ birthdays, bug our friends, and play a rousing game of Scarbulous before Facebook?” Quantcast estimates Facebook has 138.9 million monthly unique U.S. visitors in May 2011. According to Social Media Today, in April 2010 an estimated 41.6% of the U.S. population had a Facebook account.Nevertheless, Facebook’s market growth started to stall in some regions, with the site losing 7 million active users in the United States and Canada in May 2011. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facebook
Those are the literal meanings of facebook. Facebook offers many applications which entertained the users. It also helps people interact even though they are far from each other. It also lets you express your emotions towards a person, a thing, an issue or an event. When it comes to school projects or assignments, it provides information that will surely give you an idea or a background on a specific topic. On the other hand, Facebook has its negative effects on us. We usually accept friends who are not that familiar to us and after having conversations to those persons, we normally hang out without even knowing that he or she has a bad intention to you. That simply shows how grateful yet harmful facebook is.
After talking about facebook, let us now move on to the next social networking site which is twitter.

Twitter means a lot to the persons who like to share the happenings in their lives. It is a way in which they update others about their latest activities. Artists, Politicians, Businessmen, Businesswomen, students and others are the main users of this site. Like Facebook, it helps people interact with each other. Yet, it has negative effects to us just like some false tweets which lead to gossips and rumors that really affect a person involve in the wrong tweet.
Both sites have its negative and positive effects. And it’s up to us, users, to make use of them wisely. We are the rulers of our lives and those social networking sites are just things created to make our lives more meaningful. Always bear in mind that we are thankful to have them for we can freely use it yet we must not abusively work on them. Facebook or twitter, which is which?
